Overview

RunBuggy is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join our team of passionate, and highly skilled individuals in a fast-paced startup environment. This role will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting responsibilities, in addition to various accounting and finance related projects. This role will report to the VP of Finance directly, and will work directly with him to implement and streamline processes in our new system NetSuite.

 

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN ARIZONA

 

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting experience in tech fields, transportation, and/or logistics industries and a minimum of 3 years working with NetSuite. Also, the ideal candidate will possess excellent written and communication skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, proficient in Microsoft Excel, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop thorough end-to-end accounting processes and procedures, with a deep knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to identify issues, interpret and apply accounting policies.

  • Prepare all month-end and quarter-end accounting and reporting processes, including:

    o Creating required journal entries.

    o Account reconciliations.

    o Closing the month in the finance system (NetSuite).

    o Build an effective month-end accounting package for senior leadership.

  • Recording payments received from customers.

  •  Manage Payments to vendors.

  •  Process bank reconciliations and building reports to help monitor cash flow.

  • Proactively monitor our payment processing system for failed customer payments and transporter payouts, and work with our Operations team to resolve failed payment or payout issues.

  • Coordinate and update customer payment and transporter payout methods in the payment processing system to ensure timely and accurate payment.

  • Create solutions to support a more streamlined financial close process.

  • Participation in special projects and ad hoc research and analysis, as needed.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in tech, transportation, or logistics industries.

  •  Minimum of 3 years of experience using NetSuite.

  • Senior level account with 5 - 7+ years of experience in tech, auto, transportation, or logistics industries.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office - Excel, and proficient in Word and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with Finance-ERP systems (NetSuite and QuickBooks) and third payment processing software (Stripe)

  • Possess strong analytical skills and are a solution focused problem solver.

  • Tableau experience is a plus but not required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

  • Master’s degree in Accounting and/or CPA preferred but not required.
